My special interest is Jewish backgrounds to the New Testament. My purpose is to strengthen ties between Jews and Christians. Since I have studied with numerous rabbis over the years, I respect Judaism and do not proselytize Jews. There is a lot to learn from Judaism. I learned from studying Japanese for 32 years to live with "contradictions." In other words, my theology is based on paradox such as the sovereignty of God but yet the exercise of free will. As a Christian, I do believe that Jesus is the promised Messiah and that he rose from the dead. My work is to make Christians better Christians by learning from its mother (Judaism). By having studied the Torah and the Talmud (etc) with rabbis, I am a much better person and Christian.

My favorite lesson to teach is how Chinese characters, known in Japanese as kanji, relate to the book of Genesis/Breishit and to the Gospel. Since I have advanced knowledge and decades of experience in Japanese writing, I am competent in deconstructing the characters.

My favorite books of the Hebrew Bible are Breishit, Vayiqra, Iyov, that is, Genesis, Leviticus, Job. My favorite books of the Christian Bible are all John's writings and Romans. From the Mishnah I love Pirqei Avot. From the Talmud I love the tractate Sanhedrin along with all the "Bava" tractates and Ta'anit. I love the Dead Sea Scrolls, especially the Genesis Apochrypon, Jubilees, First Enoch. From the Church Fathers I love Victorinus of Pettau and Ignatius of Antioch. I want to be a librarian in heaven.

This site has sermons and translations that have been re-published electronically. They are pretty old, but honestly, I am too busy to put updated messages online. All of my current messages are done in PowerPoint, which are not published online.
